April Showers: Progress

As one blogger put it, 150 years ago many Americans would have considered this family "property" - today we have sent them to the White House. Does that bring tears to anyone else's eyes? God bless America.

Beating Cambridge (it doesn't matter at what)
Beating Navy (again, it doesn't matter at what)
Being addicted to The West Wing (and getting all our friends hooked as well so we can extort favors in exchange for loaning them the dvds)
Cooking (this one is all Carolyn - Mike tends to be more about the eating)
Dipping into brand-new peanut butter jars (this one is mostly Carolyn)
Eating veggie burgers at the Gardener's Arms
Popping the cork out of the wine bottle (this one is all Mike)
Quoting random lines from The Simpsons (this one is all Mike too, but Carolyn kindly puts up with it because she loves him)
Sleeping in on weekends
Talking with old friends from home
Traveling to far-away places

Our Travels

One of the best aspects of being research students at Oxford was that we were often able to find time to travel. We had the chance to roam all over Europe! Mike also spent several months in Botswana and South Africa collecting data for his public health research, and I was lucky enough to join him there, so we've seen a good part of Africa as well. Having had the chance to explore so much of the world has only whetted our appetites for more, and we hope to visit many more exciting destinations someday ...
